How to make a press roller on a cultivator

TERRIA new level of performance

make, press, roller, cultivator

With the TERRIA series, PÖTTINGER offers a new solution to the trailed cultivator segment. Market launch in November 2020. With working widths of 4.0 to 6.0 metres and 3 and 4-bar versions (TERRIA 4030, 5030, 6030 and TERRIA 4040, 5040, 6040), the machine offers a wide range of tillage jobs. from ploughing up stubble to top soil loosening.

Maximum reliability

TERRIA trailed cultivator tines are symmetrically arranged along the traction line. It ensures a reliable and even guidance even in difficult soil conditions, an even tillage as well as an optimum mixing of the soil. The high mounted frame of the TERRIA trailed cultivator ensures a constant soil flow even in heavy trash conditions. It allows you to work at a depth of 5 to 35 centimeters. PÖTTINGER developers have optimized an already existing stone-protection mechanism for the NONSTOP. This mechanism is indispensable for trouble-free operation. In addition to the mechanical element NOVA (actuation force 600 kg), a hydraulically actuated version (actuation force 650 kg) is added to the range. Both systems guarantee a maximum deflection and protect the frame and the material from damage.

Versatility through variety of work tools

Two adjustments allow the post to be adjusted to the desired working stroke. The intensity of the working procedure varies depending on the position. at high or low angles. Bolts also serve as shear guards. Two wing positions provide even greater versatility of use: from shallow tillage to intensive mixing. When it comes to wearing parts, PÖTTINGER offers its well-known CLASSIC, DURASTAR and DURASTAR PLUS ranges. In addition, a narrow DURASTAR foot 40 mm wide is available for surface loosening.

Chassis for gentle tillage

Overall machine length is reduced by the wheels in the working area, minimising the turning radius. Depending on the working width, the machine is equipped with a two-wheeled or. as an option. a four-wheeled running gear. The last option gives the machine a larger contact surface for optimum weight distribution and therefore ensures the most gentle soil treatment.

convenience due to hydraulic depth adjustment

On TERRIA trailed cultivators, PÖTTINGER offers fully hydraulic depth control as standard. This solution allows the machine to be adapted quickly and precisely to the most diverse working conditions. Large support wheels and compaction roller keep the machine at the desired working depth. The drawbar is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder that allows you to follow the contour of the field in the direction of travel. In addition, the drawbar cylinder with pivoting clips can increase traction and transfer the cultivator’s own weight to the tractor’s rear axle.

For optimum levelling PÖTTINGER offers the maintenance free pairs of hollow discs which run deep behind the packer roller. This makes it unnecessary to readjust the working depth. The comprehensive range of packer rollers. which includes shear-tyre rollers, rubber compaction rollers and CONOROLL tandem segmented cone rollers. provides all the options for optimum reconsolidation.

Rollers packing 6m (KZK-6 and KKSh-6)

When preparing the field for sowing, such agricultural equipment as a cultivator is used. To improve its efficiency rollers are used in Ukraine. The quality of this device directly depends on how well the land will be prepared. This also has an effect on the condition of the future harvest.

The main task of the roller is to break up clumps of earth. But this is not the end of the functions of this agricultural equipment. In order to make the field fully usable for sowing and to ensure germination, the soil must be evened and compacted. At this stage, the press rollers are connected to the packer roller.

The roller is equipped with a hydraulically operated folding mechanism for easy operation. The Packer roller is easy to transport and can be quickly set up for work. In addition to pre-sowing preparation of the fields, the unit is also used for post-harvest soil processing and preparing it for sowing winter crops.

Roller. is a tool, a device for the cultivator, which levels the ground and also performs compaction work, which helps prepare the area for sowing. The main purpose of a roller on a cultivator is to crush and break up blocks of earth.

Thanks to a high-quality roller, you can quickly and effectively restore the structure of the soil, as well as make it suitable for sowing. The machine has hydraulically actuated folding mechanisms that make it easier to transport and also allow you to quickly set it up for work.

Buy a roller for the cultivator is beneficial if you constantly carry out agricultural work or have your own land. This device is not specialized or narrowly focused, so for effective processing of the land it is a must-have.

Depending on what type of surface and terrain you plan to use a roller on a cultivator, they come in several types:

  • Cylindrical. The simplest and most common ones that perform crushing;
  • ring-toothed ones are used to break up clods, break up soil on the surface, as well as to roll loose soil and level the topography;
  • ring and spike are characterized by the fact that here the main task is to consolidate the soil, and the secondary task is to break up and level the field.

Cultivator roller on a mini-tractor

Cultivator for full soil cultivation is an obligatory part of the set of attachments and working machines up to mini-tractor, used for cultivation of land and cultivation of crops. Cultivation of soil is an important agrotechnical operation in agriculture, carried out many times on a land plot during a year. Early in spring during the full soil cultivation after the winter plowing the upper soil layers are evenly loosened and leveled in order to save and accumulate moisture that is the key to the future harvest. Cultivation of fallows is aimed at loosening the soil and fighting the weeds.

Top dressing cultivator, mounted on the machine KGHN-3

KGH series cultivators are universal mounted three-row units designed for cultivation of stubble, packing of organic fertilizers, deep loosening of soil up to 35 cm, pre-sowing preparation of soil.

Powerful ripper tines have spring protection and height 85 cm, which allows to operate the cultivator at the working depth up to 35 cm without blockage.

Roller and harrow

The twin-roller harrow allows a good levelling, consolidation and crumbling of the soil. The 530 mm diameter roller is well resistant to heavy loads and difficult operating conditions. A harrow is installed behind the roller. This is ideal for final levelling before sowing and distributing harvest residues.

Levelling bar

Height-adjustable harrow levellers are mounted in front of the packer roller to level out furrows left by the ripper tines. These levellers are easy to adjust, completely maintenance-free and economical in terms of wear characteristics.

Loosening bar protection

The double spring tine leg safety unit keeps the working tools at the required depth and protects the working tools when an obstacle is encountered. 600 kg tripping force of the safety unit.

Quick-change tines

All working tools on the ripper tine are attached with just one bolt for quick exchange. This provides a safe and stable implement mounting. The cultivator is equipped with 80 mm wide chisel and 350 mm wide arrowhead as standard.

Cultivator, cultivator. the first help in the field!

Cultivators of R series manufactured by Rostselmash belong to the steam, or solid. They are used after ploughing or deep loosening when a looser soil structure is desired, to lock in moisture and prepare the field for sowing.

The main working elements of these machines are wing shares mounted on separate arched stalks. The tines are bolted as standard and, due to their shallow angle of attack, are suitable for shallow cultivation. They mix the top and bottom layers of the soil intensively, retain moisture and incorporate stubble residues.

Robust, robust C-shaped tines with individually reinforced springs. During operation the resilient tines meet the alternating resistance of the soil and are forced to vibrate. The trip height of the strut is 180 mm and the spring block force is 250 kg. This results in an improved crumbling quality, less drag resistance, smooth running of the wing shares and a more even tillage result.

Coulter tines in the R-Series are arranged in 5 rows with a 254 mm spacing and a staggered row spacing. This arrangement increases the service life of the wing shares and improves the quality of their work.

Despite the ability to withstand considerable loads, coulters and tines periodically need to be replaced. Unusual situations in the form of large stones can happen during the work of the cultivator. This is why there is only one strong bolt to fix the tine to the frame. This saves time for replacement of defective parts.

“Our soils are clayey and prone to formation of a dense crust,” says Alexander Ionov, director of Agrohim from the Ryazan region To break it up and form a loose layer on the surface of the soil, we use a cultivator Rostselmash. During the operation of the equipment, and the R-1220 has covered about 5,000 hectares, only a few tines have worn down. Without any problems we bought them at the dealer center and quickly replaced them all by ourselves”.

Cultivators of the R series are also successfully used in the care of fallows. The key objective of such cultivation is to close moisture from the time of harvest to the time of planting.

Thanks to the combined construction, the cultivator performs this task in just one pass. Three rows of tines follow the lancet tines that loosen the soil to a depth of 6 to 15 cm and incorporate crop remains and lift weeds. The harrows break up small clods and level the field. The following roller with active slats closes the loop. Its task is to form as loose a layer as possible, which prevents moisture from escaping from the soil through capillaries. The roller has no center shaft, which makes it easy to work in wet conditions and with large amounts of crop residue. After the passage of the roller the water, air and heat balance of the field are as though conserved until the next seasonal work. The roller is easily adjustable in height or can be skipped if the soil is too wet.

And who are the weeds? There is none and there is none and there is none and there is none and there is none!

Weed control takes place year-round. And if gardeners arm themselves with hoes, cultivators help to wage war against weeds in the fields.

These machines are on the battlefield long before the first shoots. After harvesting and discing, the cultivator lifts the weed roots to the surface of the field, and they dry out in the wind.

In spring one more cultivation is done to prevent survived weeds from growing. At this stage, the three rows of tine bars behind the wing shares act as a comb. They pull the weeds out of the furrows formed by the coulters and over the surface. At this stage it is very important that each row of tines operates at a different angle of attack (20°, 25°, 30°) and penetrates the soil at different depths. These parameters can be changed to suit the application conditions. You can also use a spring loading mechanism (from 40 to 80 kg). In this way, by evenly distributing the load on the tines of the spring harrow, maximum efficiency can be achieved.

Cultivator is not only a set of tools. But also a whole complex of systems and mechanisms designed to support the stable operation of the machine.

The wheels on the cultivator, for example, play a key role. The front wheels are equipped with an L-shaped fork that provides the required maneuverability and consequently prevents the front row of tines from sinking in. Access to the wheels is made as easy as possible for easy access and maintenance.

Dual balancer wheels keep the machine in balance and ensure a smooth ride, especially when driving across the furrow. Regardless of the degree of penetration of the support wheels into the soil, the working depth can be adjusted and the working depth can be made uniform across the entire working width by means of the central and wing adjustment bars.

A floating hitch offered as a standard feature on R series cultivators compensates for unevenness in the field. Thanks to this movable connection, the trailed equipment can work parallel to the surface of the field regardless of the tractor’s movement, ensuring a constant working depth. The cultivator follows the terrain, preventing the wing shares from hanging upwards or, on the contrary, from sinking too deep when descending from an elevation.

A swivel joint between wing-frame and central frame of cultivator is designed for maximum contour following. Such hinge allows to repeat all the irregularities of the field within 10º up and 6º down and move the machine to transport position after the work.

Maxim Shukhov, head of a farm in Altai Krai, shared his impressions of the R 1830 cultivator:

“You could say that we use the machine in extreme conditions, on loamy soils. The cultivator fulfills its functions well. it cuts the weeds and crumbles the clods. Thanks to the working width of 18.3 m, it is possible to cultivate large areas, which is very important in conditions of tight working deadlines.

Two years of exploitation. warranty period prescribed by the manufacturer. When storing cultivators under warranty the owner of the machine receives quality service from the company’s certified specialists. Due to the extensive network of service centers, Rostselmash provides prompt arrival of service teams to any region where the company dealers are located.

A design of a cultivator determines the quality of its operation and costs of its implementation. The paper presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies on the determination of a construction arrangement of cultivators, the most efficiently performing seedbed preparation. Today, along with tine cultivators of the traditional construction, the machines, equipped with sweep and disk working bodies, have come into widespread acceptance. To enhance the efficiency of their application for preplant tillage it is necessary to analyze the impact of different ratios of sweep and disk working bodies on the work quality. In this case, you should take into account soil and landscape conditions, where you intend to use the unit. We examined the work of cultivators under conditions of Altai Krai. This goal is achieved by the analysis of construction arrangements, according to which the aggregates for the preplant treatment are made, as well as by the evaluation of the results of their work. For the experimental evaluation we used cultivators KD-720, APK-7.2, KPO-7.2, “Leader 7.2N”. The tests were carried out under the following conditions: loamy ordinary chernozem; soil hardness was not more than 3.5 MPa; moisture content was not more than 25 %; relief was smooth with a slope up to 3 degrees; the infestation with stones missed; the stubble height was no more than 25 cm. The use of combined aggregates, equipped, together with sweeps, by disk working tools. enable to reduce lump content (the share of lumps of soil with a diameter of 25 mm or more) almost 3 times, compared with the cultivators with sweeps only; the surface imperfections 1.4 times
