How to unscrew the different types?

- Sprocket, or Torx. appeared as an improved alternative to the hexagon. Designed to withstand high tightening torques, centred. With the right bit, it would be quite difficult to break it.
- Three-beam. A variant which is considered anti-vandal because it is used so infrequently. Comes in different shapes: Y-type, Ti-wing. In the first case, the slot looks like the letter with the same name, and in the second one, like a turbine blade.

- With outer splines. To work with them use a special tool with a recess, corresponding in shape and size of the fixing head. Available in square, pentagonal, hexagonal, Torx, 12-point or twelve-point. Most of them are suitable for a ring wrench, head licking often occurs with excessive force during work.

- Before resorting to drastic measures, it is worth examining the back of the workpiece in which the screw is screwed. Perhaps the edge of the fastener is peeking out from the underside. In that case you can grasp it with the pliers and try to unscrew it from the inside.
- When getting started, make sure that the fastener is rotated in the right direction. Some screws contain reverse threads. In such situations, to solve the problem you need to make rotations in a clockwise direction.
- If after the screw in the workpiece left a gaping hole, you can solve the problem by inserting a larger self-tapping screw here. As an alternative, it is worth using a bolted connection with a nut.

If you have a long screw then when you drill the hole it tends to fall sideways. And with this screw you can twist with an electric electric screwdriver and hold the axle by the holder, the “skirt” twists freely. This prevents the screw from falling off to the side.
Let’s see what’s inside these adapters. I couldn’t disassemble the straight shaft extension. Flexible shaft. just cut off the outer plastic with a office knife. There’s a spring and a rope inside. Angle wrench. there are two bearings pressed in on both sides. The retaining ring is visible. I couldn’t get it off, no matter how hard I tried. The most I could do was to remove the side bearing washer and look at the balls and the white plastic cage. Looks like a single row bearing.
Generally a tool for the DIYer or occasional use, but when you have to use it you think “What would I do without it”. Sometimes it speeds up the work considerably. For frequent and professional use there are other tools with the same functionality but better quality, but a completely different price.

Ways to unscrew bolts, screws, and screws with flared faces
If you are unable to unscrew the fasteners with edges that have slipped off, you can use one of several tried and tested methods.
This method is used when unscrewing bolts, because the head of the bolt is sticking out and can be caught. To do this:

It is possible to cut a new edge on a bolt with a file, but this is harder and longer. A cut can be made in the head of the screw or screw with a metal saw or angle grinder.
Hammer and chisel or impact screwdriver
This option is more suitable for flared nuts or fairly large screws. Place the chisel against the head of the fastener and gradually turn the screw or nut by hitting it with a hammer. Small screws or screws can be unscrewed with an impact screwdriver and hammer. After loosening the fastener, the work can be done with a normal screwdriver.
Tourniquet or a piece of rubber
In this case use a small piece of medical tape or a piece of dense rubber. The material of your choice is placed on top of the head of the screw or bolt and then pressed down with a screwdriver, gradually turning it. The presence of rubber will help increase friction and solve the problem.
The extractor is a special tool that is used to unscrew screws, bolts or screws with flared or broken heads.
- The thin drill bit is used to make a small hole in the head. In some cases the extractor can simply be driven into the stripped slot in the screw.

Regular or left-hand drill bit
Left-handed drills are commercially available with counterclockwise rotation. They improve tool centering and reduce the load on the drill bit, resulting in higher productivity and accuracy of drilling. Inserted in a drill, the tool can be used to remove a screw or screw with a slipped head. If you do not have a left hand drill bit, you can try to drill out a stuck fastener with an ordinary one. In this case you should take a drill bit with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the bolt or screw. Be careful not to have to cut the thread for the new fastener later.
To the head of the problem screw or screw using epoxy glue or glue called “cold welding” fix a nut of the appropriate diameter. After the glue has firmly fixed it, use a wrench to turn the nut and unscrew the screw or screw together with it.

Armed with a dremel, put a small abrasive disk on it. On the round head of the bolt with the internal sprocket, made two faces for a ten-millimeter open-end wrench. Just sawed off two halves on opposite sides. Unscrewed it with a regular wrench. This can also be done with a normal socket wrench and even with an iron file. There is another way to unscrew bolts with hexagonal socket or sprocket, but with stripped edges. This paste increases the adhesion of the mating parts.
