Preparing the tool
First remove the shank, i.e. the part of the file that fits into the handle. You can do it with an emery or an angle grinder, whatever is more convenient for you. Then put the file in the chuck of the drill or screwdriver and clamp it.

- Disconnect the chain from the bar.
